This page explains what personal information Materials 101 ("we", "the site") collects from you, why we collect it, where it is stored, and the choices you have. The site is operated by Teerapong Poltue from Bangkok, Thailand, as a personal educational project. If anything below is unclear, email us at contact@tpoltue.com.
This policy covers anyone who visits the Materials 101 site, creates an account, signs in with Google, purchases the Pro upgrade, or submits a problem report through the in-page form.
We use your information to create and authenticate your account, to send you transactional email (verification, password reset, email-change confirmation, and replies to problem reports), to process your Pro upgrade and unlock Pro content, to respond to bug reports and feedback, and to keep the site secure and prevent abuse.
We do not sell your personal information, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties for marketing purposes.
We rely on a small number of vetted service providers to operate the site. Each one only receives the data needed for its specific job.
Authentication, database storage, and cloud functions. Data is stored in the Singapore region (asia-southeast1).
View Firebase privacy →Payment processing for the Pro upgrade. We never see or store card or PromptPay details ourselves.
View Stripe privacy →Delivery of transactional email — verification, password reset, and problem-report forwarding.
View Resend privacy →Static hosting for the public pages of the site. Receives standard server-log data (IP address, user-agent) when you visit.
View GitHub privacy →Account and Pro-entitlement data is stored in Firestore in Google Cloud's Singapore region. Email delivery records are stored briefly by Resend in line with their retention policy. Payment records are held by Stripe under their own retention rules. The public site files are served from GitHub Pages.
You can ask us to access the personal information we hold about you, correct anything that is wrong (you can also change your email yourself from the account page), delete your account and associated data, or withdraw consent for any use of your data beyond what is legally required.
To exercise any of these rights, email contact@tpoltue.com from the address associated with your account. We will respond within 30 days.
Materials 101 is intended for university and graduate-level students. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Account passwords are hashed by Firebase Authentication and never visible to us. Payments are encrypted in transit and processed entirely on Stripe's infrastructure. The site is served exclusively over HTTPS. No system is perfectly secure — if you suspect your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.
If we change how we collect or use data, we will update this page and revise the "Last updated" date at the top. For material changes (e.g., a new third-party provider), we will also email signed-in users at least 14 days before the change takes effect.
